Decluttering is Good for the Soul

DECLUTTERING IS GOOD FOR THE SOUL

When we think about clutter, we typically think about a messy desk, room or even the entire home.
Beyond the physical home, clutter may be in your car; relationships; digital activity; finances; garage or storage space. But… clutter can be – and typically is – a reflection of something going on much deeper:  At the heart of clutter is a lack of peace and clarity in the mind, heart and spirit. There a power in the practice of decluttering that will improve your life beyond your greatest expectations.  This practice opens you to the power of Peace, Joy and Freedom to enjoy your life – exceeding anything you have envisioned. First, it is important to understand the core culprits of clutter:

MENTAL CLUTTER

Clutter in the mind can be directly related to taking on too much.  Having a real challenge with time management can keep you up at night, resulting in a lack of proper rest.  Lack of proper rest can result in patterns of tardiness and a perception of being undependable.  Thus, a continual pattern of falling behind is perpetuated, there’s not enough time to address priorities and as the cycle continues, the clutter builds in multiple areas.

When is the last time you had a “Brain Dump”?  Have you taken time to create a manageable “To Do” list   and then to prioritize the list?  This is a critical component to freeing your mind of excess clutter.  The next step is to dive deep into emotions that you are holding onto that are ultimately holding you back:

EMOTIONAL CLUTTER

Have you been carrying around hurt and emotional pain from something that happened?  How long have you been carrying the sorrow and sadness?  Whether it was a bully from grade school or a betrayal of a close family member, these scars can be very challenging on our innate nature to be in Joy and Peace and true Freedom.  When the heart is confused, it is cluttered.  The resulting confusion causes us to question and doubt even the most sincere and loving intentions.  In these situations, we unwittingly carry ambiguous baggage that is emblematic of the trauma.  Each piece of your broken heart shows up in one or more forms of clutter.  Left unaddressed and unnurtured the process of compulsive masking leads to physical clutter, financial hardship and ultimately hoarding.

A paramount step in dealing with emotional clutter is Forgiveness.  The process is simple in theory, but for some can seem like an impossible prospect.  Forgiveness allows us to release the burden of pain and move forward.  Trust in the knowing of your Higher Power to resolve and remove the pain. It is a small step, but the greatest accelerant you can possible give yourself for Peace, Joy and Freedom.

SPIRITUAL CLUTTER

It’s all relative!   By now, you’ve realized the theme of Joy, Peace and Freedom is a core component on a Soul Level.  If you have Joy, then you are in Peace.  If you have Peace, then you are spiritually Free.  Again, it’s ALL relative!  The collective impact of Spiritual Clutter can be paralyzing.  Replace any feelings of shame, guilt and outright rejection with your full acceptance of yourself.  You deserve love!  That love starts with SELF-LOVE!

Make “Love Myself” first on your ‘To Do’ list and your FIRST PRIORITY!  Create the intentions and take action on loving yourself first.  This is the first step to decluttering for the good of your soul!

AFFIRMATION

As I release clutter, I free myself and open to joy and peace!
